Composition
1 g of the drug contains the active ingredients:
colistin sulfate 500 000 IU;
oxytetracycline hydrochloride 35 mg;
trimethoprim 90 mg.
Pharmacological properties
Ultrafom powder – a comprehensive drug component parts which, acting synergistically to provide a broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity.
Colistin – an antibiotic from the group of polymyxins, which has a bactericidal effect on gram-negative bacteria (E. coli, Salmonella spp., Pasteurella spp., Haemophilus spp., Bordetella spp). Mechanism of action of colistin is in violation of the integrity of the cytoplasmic membrane of microorganisms. The permeability of the bacterial membrane changes immediately after exposure to the drug. A colistin binds phospholipid cell membranes by neutralizing the biological effects of bacterial endotoxin.
Oxytetracycline – bacteriostatic antibiotic mechanism of action of which is to initiate protein synthesis during its interaction with ribosomes, as well as to reduce the permeability of the cytoplasmic membrane of sensitive microorganisms. The drug has a wide range of effects on gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms: Streptococcus spp., Clostridium spp., Corynebacterium spp., Brucella spp., Haemophilus spp., E. coli, Pasteurella spp., Klebsiella spp., Erysipelothrix spp., Fusobacterium spp. , Salmonella spp., as well as the protozoan (Protozoa), mycoplasma (Mycoplasma spp.), rickettsia (Rickettsia spp.) and chlamydia (Chlamydia).
Trimethoprim – chemotherapy drug that acts bacteriostatic for gram-positive (Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Clostridium spp., Corynebacterium spp., and others) and gram-negative (E. coli, Salmonella spp., Klebsiella spp., Proteus spp., Pasteurella spp., Bordetella spp. etc.) microorganisms. It inhibits bacterial reductase, which converts into tetrahidrofoliyevu dehidrofoliyevu acid, which is necessary for the synthesis of purines and nucleic acids. Thereby trimethoprim blocks one of the key processes of bacterial protein synthesis.
Usege
Pigs: Treatment of animals suffering from dysentery, colibacillosis, salmonellosis, pasteurellosis, as well as diseases of the alimentary canal and respiratory system, caused by microorganisms sensitive to components of the drug.
Rabbits, calves and lambs (aged six weeks), treatment of animals suffering from enteritis and respiratory diseases that are caused by microorganisms sensitive to components of the drug.
Poultry (chickens, turkeys, geese, ducks): treatment of birds suffering from mycoplasmosis, colibacillosis, pasteurellosis, and respiratory diseases that are caused by microorganisms sensitive to components of the drug.
Dosage
Oral doses:
pigs, poultry (group by) – 1 kg of the drug per 1000 liters of drinking water or 1.5-2 kg of drug per 1 ton of feed for 3-5 days;
rabbits – 1-1.5 g drug per 1 liter of drinking water for 3-5 days;
calves, lambs (aged six weeks), pigs (individually) – 0,5 g product per 10 kg of body weight 2 times a day for 5-7 days.
Contraindications
Do not use the drug to animals with hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation. Do not use ruminants functionally developed peredshlunkamy and chickens, hens, eggs are used as food for people. Do not use during lactation and in the last third of pregnancy.
Warning
The slaughter of animals for meat are allowed after 10 days, the birds – within 7 days after the last administration of the drug. Received by the deadline will dispose of meat or unproductive animals are fed, according to a doctor of veterinary medicine.
