SYNULAX 50 MG (10 TABLETS) FOR DOGS AND CATS

It is used to treat infectious diseases of dogs and cats of bacterial etiology, including:
- skin diseases (including deep and superficial pyoderma)
- urinary tract infections
- respiratory infections of bacterial etiology (with involvement in the infectious process of both the upper and lower respiratory tract)

Composition and form of release
Synulox 50 mg tablets are round pink tablets with a dividing groove on one side and the inscription "Synulox" on the other side. Each Synulox 50 mg tablet contains 40 mg of amoxicillin in the form of amoxicillin trihydrate and 10 mg of clavulanic acid in the form of sodium clavulanate. They are produced in packs of 10 pieces in foil strips, which are put into cardboard boxes.

Pharmacological properties
Amoxicillin is a semi-synthetic broad-spectrum penicillin that has a rapid bactericidal effect on many gram-positive (Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp., Corynebacterium spp.) and gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Bordetella bronchiseptica, Proteus spp., Pasteurella, Klebsiella), including b-lactamase producing strains. Resistance to b-lactam antibacterial drugs is usually due to the ability of microorganisms to produce b-lactamase, an enzyme that destroys the b-lactam ring of the antibiotic before it can have an effect on the bacterial cell. Clavulanic acid, which is part of synulox, inactivates b-lactamase and thereby restores the sensitivity of bacteria to the bactericidal action of amoxicillin at concentrations that are easily achieved in animal tissues after administration of the drug.

Indications
Assign to dogs and cats for the treatment of infections of bacterial etiology: diseases of the skin and soft tissues (abscesses, pyoderma, inflammation of the paranasal glands, gingivitis, stomatitis, etc.), respiratory diseases, diseases of the genitourinary system and enteritis.

Doses and method of application
Synulox tablets 50 mg are given to sick animals directly into the mouth or crushed together with food at a dose of 12.5 mg per 1 kg of animal weight kg - 4 tablets of Synulox 50 mg) 2 times a day for 5-7 days. If the disease is difficult to treat, especially with infections of the respiratory system, you can increase the dose of synulox by 2 times (up to 25 mg per 1 kg of animal weight) twice a day or reduce the intervals between drug administration. In the case of chronic or intractable diseases, often accompanied by significant tissue damage, a longer course of synulox therapy is recommended: the duration of treatment for chronic skin diseases and chronic cystitis is 10-28 days, for respiratory diseases - 8-10 days.

Side effects
Hypersensitive animals may have allergic reactions. With proper use and dosage, side effects are not observed.

Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. Synulox, like other penicillin antibiotics, is not allowed to be given to rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters and gerbils. With great care, the drug should be used in other types of small herbivores.

Special instructions
There are no special precautions. The use of the drug is not indicated for pseudomonous infection. Synulox tablets 50 mg can be used as an alternative to injectable antibiotics in the treatment of small animals.
