BAYTRIL 5% BAYER  (Enrofloxacin) injection Solution 100ML

Composition and form of release. The solution for injection contains 50 ml of enrofloxacin and a solvent in 1 ml as active substance. In appearance it is a clear yellow solution. Produced in bottles of dark glass of 100 ml.

Pharmacological action. Enrofloxacin, which is part of baytril, belongs to the group of fluoroquinolones and has a broad spectrum of antimicrobial action, is active against gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, including Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Pasteurella, Staphylococcus, Coryterbacterium, Coryterlobacter, Psevteridepi, . Enrofloxacin is rapidly absorbed into the blood and enters all organs and tissues of the body. The maximum concentration of the drug in the blood is reached after 1.5 -2 hours and is maintained for 6 hours, and the therapeutic concentration for 24 hours. The drug is excreted mainly unchanged in the urine and bile.

Indications. Bacterial infections in calves, pigs and dogs whose pathogens are sensitive to enrofloxacin. Doses and method of application. Baytril 5% solution for injection is administered to calves and dogs subcutaneously, pigs intramuscularly in doses: calves and pigs - 1 ml per 20 kg of animal weight (2.5 mg of enrofloxacin per 1 kg of body weight) once a day for 3-5 days, and in the treatment of MMA syndrome of sows for 1 - 2 days; dogs - 1 ml per 10 kg of animal weight (5 mg of enrofloxacin per 1 kg of body weight) once a day for 5-10 days. Due to the possible pain reaction, the drug should be administered in an amount of not more than 5 ml in one place to large animals and not more than 2.5 ml to small animals.

Side effects. In some cases, short-term dysfunction of the gastrointestinal tract is possible.

Contraindications. Baytril 5% solution for injection is not allowed to be used for the treatment of dogs under 12 months of age, for the treatment of females during pregnancy and lactation, with significant cartilage disorders, nervous system disorders accompanied by convulsions, in the presence of quinolone-resistant microorganisms. Antagonistic effects can be observed when combining baytril (enrofloxacin) with chloramphenicol, macrolides or tetracycline. Dogs should not be given theophylline at the same time. Do not use concomitantly with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

Special instructions. Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed 7 days after the last application of the drug. The meat of animals that have been forcibly killed earlier can be used to feed carnivores or to produce meat and bone meal.
