RONIDAZOLE 20 TABS (1 TABLET 480 MG PER 4 KG OF WEIGHT)
Ronidazole - sugar-coated tablets.
Composition
One tablet (480 mg) contains the active ingredient: ronidazole - 120 mg.
Excipients: polyvinylpyrrolidone, potato starch, calcium stearate, talc, albumin, milk powder, flavoring, lactose.
Pharmacological properties
ATCvet QP51, antiprotozoal veterinary drugs.
Ronidazole (a group of nitroimidazole compounds) acts on protozoa, trichomonads and anaerobic bacteria. The combination of ronidazole reaction products with the DNA of protozoa or bacteria leads to its death. The formation of strong compounds significantly increases the acidic intracellular pH level, which, among other things, confirms the selective effect of 5-nitroimidazole derivatives on anaerobic bacteria and some protozoa. In addition, the reaction of ronidazole produces products that are intracellular donors of aerobic free radicals, which additionally damage intracellular molecules other than DNA. This enhances cellular destruction and leads to the fastest death of protozoa or bacteria.
After oral administration, ronidazole is almost completely and rapidly absorbed from the digestive tract and reaches maximum plasma concentrations after 12-14 hours. Its bioavailability is over 90%. The plasma half-life of ronidazole after oral administration in most animals is approximately 11 hours, blocking its reproduction by inhibiting DNA synthesis. Ronidazole, when administered to animals as a single oral dose, has been shown to be excreted 30-36% of the dose in the urine and 16-40% in the feces within 24 hours. Further excretion is slow and incomplete.
The drug in recommended doses does not have a sensitizing, embryotoxic and teratogenic effect.
