Powder amoxicillin + potassium clavulanate for broiler chickens, chickens, pigs, dogs, cats, 500 g
Storage
1 g of the drug contains:
amoxicillin trihydrate — 200 mg
potassium clavulanate — 50 mg
Description
Light yellow powder.
Pharmacological properties
Broad-spectrum antibacterial drug.
Amoxicillin trihydrate is a semi-synthetic penicillin, belongs to ß-lactam antibiotics, suppresses the synthesis of bacterial cell walls by inhibiting transpeptidase and carboxypeptidase, which causes a violation of osmotic pressure and the death of microorganisms at the stage of development. It is destroyed under the action of ß-lactamases, which are biosynthesized by a number of bacteria resistant to it, as a result of which the spectrum of activity of drugs based on one amoxicillin is significantly narrowed. Effective against gram-positive microorganisms (Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Actinomyces spp., Clostridium spp., Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, Listeria monocytogenes, Bacillus anthracis, Corynebacterium spp.) and some gram-negative microorganisms (Salmonella spp., Pasteurella spp., Haemophilus spp. , Actinobacillus spp., Bordetella bronchiseptica, E. coli, Fusobacterium spp., Moraxella spp., Proteus mirabilis).
After oral administration, amoxicillin is well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and is resistant to the action of gastric juice. Its bioavailability is approximately 30%. The maximum concentration of amoxicillin in blood plasma is observed 2-4 hours after use. It is well distributed in body fluids, and also quickly penetrates tissues and spreads in muscles, liver, bile, kidneys and urine. Excreted by the kidneys with urine.
Clavulanate potassium is a ß-lactam structurally related to penicillins. It has a slight antibacterial effect, however, by irreversibly inhibiting a number of ß-lactamases, it prevents the inactivation of amoxicillin and ensures its antibiotic activity against bacteria that are usually resistant to amoxicillin and other penicillins and cephalosporins — Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus spp., Bacteroides spp. and Staphylococcus spp.
Clavulanic acid is not broken down by stomach or intestinal enzymes and is rapidly absorbed, producing therapeutic levels in the bile. It penetrates the placenta. Excreted by the kidneys with urine by glomerular filtration. Does not change the pharmacokinetics of amoxicillin. Not found in milk.
Indication
Treatment of poultry (broiler chickens, repair young, breeding chickens), pigs, dogs, cats for diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, respiratory organs, urinary tract, skin and soft tissues caused by microorganisms sensitive to amoxicillin and clavulanic acid.
Contraindication
Do not prescribe to animals with increased sensitivity to penicillins, severe kidney function disorders, during pregnancy and lactation. Do not use in horses, rabbits, ants, hamsters, chinchillas, small herbivores, as well as laying hens whose eggs are eaten by humans.
Do not use simultaneously with chloramphenicol, lincosamides, tetracyclines, macrolides, sulfonamides.
Method of application and dosage
The drug is given orally with drinking water or food. An aqueous solution of the drug is prepared immediately before use. Before processing the animals, the watering system is turned off for two hours.
The drug is used in the following doses:
poultry - 1 g (200 mg of amoxicillin trihydrate and 50 mg of potassium clavulanate) per 10 kg of body weight with drinking water;
chickens, broilers under 10 days old — 12.5 g (2500 mg of amoxicillin trihydrate and 625 mg of potassium clavulanate) per 100 l of drinking water, course — 3-5 days;
chickens, broilers over 10 days old — 25 g (5000 mg of amoxicillin trihydrate and 1250 mg of potassium clavulanate) per 100 l of drinking water, course — 3-5 days;
pigs — 0.4-0.5 g (80-100 mg of amoxicillin trihydrate and 20-25 mg of potassium clavulanate) per 10 kg of body weight with feed, milk or drinking water every 12 hours, course — 3-5 days; with a severe course of the disease on the first day of treatment, the dose can be increased by 2 times;
dogs — 0.5 g (100 mg of amoxicillin trihydrate and 25 mg of potassium clavulanate) per 10 kg of body weight with minced meat or feed, 2 times a day, course — 5-7 days;
cats — 0.25 g (50 mg of amoxicillin trihydrate and 12.5 mg of potassium clavulanate) per 5 kg of body weight with minced meat or food, 2 times a day, course — 5-7 days.
For dogs and cats with a severe course of the disease in the first 2 days, the dose can be increased by 2 times, and the course of treatment can be extended until the symptoms of the disease disappear
Reservation
When used in the recommended doses and following the course of treatment, side effects usually do not occur. Allergic reactions are possible in individual hypersensitive animals.
Absorption of the drug is reduced by antacids, glucosamine, laxatives, aminoglycosides, and increased by ascorbic acid.
After the last use of the drug, pigs can be slaughtered for meat after 3 days, poultry - after 2 days. Meat received before the specified deadline is disposed of or fed to non-productive animals, depending on the opinion of the veterinary medicine doctor.
Storage conditions
In a dry, dark place inaccessible to children at a temperature of +10 to +25 °C.
Expiration date
2 years.
