Meloxicam is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that belongs to the group of oxicams. Meloxicam has anti-inflammatory, anti-exudative, analgesic and antipyretic effects by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis. Meloxicam reduces the infiltration of leukocytes in the area of inflammation, inhibits collagen-induced platelet aggregation. Meloxicam has antitoxic properties that are associated with inhibition of B2 thromboxidase production by E-Coli endotoxins in cattle and horses.
Indications for use
Cattle. The drug is used to treat animals with acute respiratory infections, mastitis in combination with appropriate antibiotic therapy to reduce the clinical symptoms of the disease. For the treatment of animals with digestive disorders (diarrhea, diarrhea) in combination with oral rehydration therapy to reduce clinical symptoms in calves from one week of age and in young cattle. The drug is also used to relieve postoperative pain after removal of horns in calves.
Horses. The drug is used to treat animals in acute and chronic diseases of the musculoskeletal system. In combination with other veterinary drugs - to reduce pain in colic.
Pigs. The drug is used to treat animals with diseases of the musculoskeletal system to reduce symptoms of lameness and inflammation. To relieve postoperative pain, postpartum sepsis, mastitis-metritis-agalactia syndrome in combination with appropriate antibiotic therapy.
Doses and methods of administration (intravenous, subcutaneous) Cattle. The drug is administered subcutaneously or intravenously at a dose of 1.25 ml per 100 kg of body weight of the Horse. The drug is administered intravenously at a dose of 1.5 ml per 100 kg of body weight. Pigs. The drug is administered intramuscularly at a dose of 1 ml per 100 kg of body weight.
If necessary, subsequent administration of the drug in the same dose after 24 hours is possible.
