Pharmacological properties

Levamisole Hydrochloride – livoobertayuchyy isomer belongs to the group imidatiazoliv and is biologically active derivatives tetramizolu is safer than tetramizol. Levamisole inhibits the enzyme acetylcholinesterase, thus affecting neuro-muscular system of the parasite, causing a reduction of its muscles and paralysis. It also inhibits the metabolism of carbohydrates in the body of parasites, which blocks the synthesis of ATP.

Usege
Treatment of cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, dogs and birds for diseases caused by:
cattle, sheep and goats: gastrointestinal nematodes (adults and larval forms): Haemonchus spp., Ostertagia spp., Cooperia spp., Trichostrongylus spp., Nematodirus spp., Bunostomum spp., Oesophagostomum spp.; and pulmonary nematodes: Dictyocaulus spp.;
in pigs: pulmonary and gastrointestinal nematodes: Ascaris suum, Strongyloides ransomi, Metastrongylus spp., Oesophagostomum spp.;
in dogs: gastrointestinal nematodes Toxascaris spp., Toxocara spp., Ancylostoma spp., Uncinaria spp.;
in poultry: nematodes Askaridia galli, Heterakis gallinarium, Capillaria spp., Singamus trachea.
Dosage
The drug is used once, subcutaneously or intramuscularly in doses:
cattle: 0.75 ml (75 mg levamisole) for 10 kg body weight. Maximum dose – 22.5 ml (2250 mg levamisole) per animal weighing more than 300 kg;
sheep, goats: 0.75 ml (75 mg levamisole) for 10 kg body weight. Maximum dose – 4.5 ml (450 mg levamisole) per animal weighing more than 65 kg;
pigs: 0.75 ml (75 mg levamisole) for 10 kg body weight. Animals weighing more than 150 kg the recommended dose is 3.5 mL (350 mg levamisole) for every 50 kg;
dogs: 0.75 ml (75 mg levamisole) for 10 kg of body weight once orally.
poultry: 1.0 ml (100 mg levamisole) in 250 ml of drinking water for three consecutive days, orally.
Do not exceed the recommended dose.
Contraindications
Do not administer to the sick and debilitated animals, especially animals with liver and kidney.
Do not administer to pregnant females in the last trimester of pregnancy, as well as pigs weighing up to 10 kg.
Warning
The slaughter of animals for meat are allowed after 7 days after the last administration of the drug. Milk can be eaten in 3 days. Received by the deadline meat and milk or dispose of unproductive animals are fed, according to a doctor of veterinary medicine.
