IntreTrim 480 solution for oral use 1000ml
Storage
In 1 liter of solution: trimethoprim - 80 g, sodium sulfadiazine - 400 g, filler - up to 1 liter.
Pharmacological properties
Sulfadiazine is a sulfonamide drug of medium duration of action. Disrupts the process of microbes obtaining growth factors necessary for their development - folic acid and other substances, the molecules of which are para-aminobenzoic acid. Under the action of the drug, the formation of methionine, purine and pyrimidine bases in the microbial cell is disrupted, which in turn leads to disruption of the synthesis of nucleic acids and nucleoproteins. Able to neutralize endotoxins in the body. It is absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract slowly, the maximum concentration of the drug in the blood is established after 4-6 hours, it binds little to plasma proteins and is more slowly excreted from the body. Due to the combination of anti-allergic and antipyretic properties with bacteriostatic action, sulfadiazine can be used for various diseases accompanied by inflammatory processes.
Trimethoprim is a synthetic antimicrobial drug, which is a diaminopyrimidine derivative, acts against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, blocking the reduction of dihydrofolic acid into tetrahydrofolic acid, which is necessary for the development of microorganisms. Pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic properties are similar to similar properties of long-acting sulfonamides. The drug has high stability in an acidic environment, is quickly absorbed when taken internally and penetrates into all tissues of the body. The maximum concentration in the blood is noted 1-3 hours after intake and persists for 7 hours. High concentrations are created in the lungs and kidneys. Excreted in significant quantities with urine.
The combination of sulfadiazine with trimethoprim has a greater bacteriostatic and bactericidal effect on pathogenic microflora than the skin substance alone.
Indications for use
It is used for the treatment and prevention of bacterial infections in birds and pigs caused by microorganisms sensitive to the drug in gastrointestinal, respiratory and urinary tract infections. The following are highly sensitive to the drug: E. coli, Klebsiella, Enterobacter, Proteus, Citrobacter, Salmonella spp., Shigella, Haemophilus spp., Vibriocholerae, Listeria, Pneumocystiscarinii, Pasteurella spp., Staphylococcus and Streptococcus Acquired bacterial resistance develops very slowly. Before use, the sensitivity of the causative strains to sulfadiazine and trimethoprim should be checked. During treatment, the only source of drinking should be water with the drug dissolved in it.
Contraindication
During the period of use of Intertrim - 480 ®, animals should not be given drugs that easily release sulfur (Glauber's salt, etc.), aminoglycosides (gentamicin, neomycin), as well as muscle relaxants and anesthetics due to the risk of respiratory muscle paralysis.
Side effects
In very rare cases, hypersensitivity may occur. With long-term use in large doses, crystalluria (hematuria) may be observed. In this case, it is recommended to stop giving the drug, simultaneously prescribing sodium carbonate (to increase the solubility of sulfadiazine in urine).
Dosage and method of application
For oral use only.
For the treatment of birds, the dosage of the drug is 1 liter per 1500-2000 liters of drinking water or 0.5 ml per 10 kg of live weight per day.
The duration of the course is 3-4 days; in case of mixed infections, as well as the chronic course of the disease - 5 days. If there is no noticeable clinical improvement within 2-3 days, it is recommended to re-check the sensitivity of microorganisms to sulfadiazine and trimethoprim.
For preventive purposes, 1 liter of Intertrim - 480 Oral® is applied to 2,000 to 2,500 liters of drinking water or 0.4 ml per 10 kg of live weight per day for 4-5 days.
Pigs: Treatment: 1 liter per 1500 liters of drinking water per day or 1 ml per 10-14 kg of body weight. (weighing up to 50 kg) and 16-22 kg by weight. (weighing more than 50 kg) per day for 4-7 days.
Prevention: it is recommended to reduce the therapeutic dosage by 1.5 times. Duration - 4-7 days.
Calves, goats and sheep: 2.5 ml per 100 kg of live body weight twice a day for 4-7 days.
The period of complete elimination of the drug from the animal's body
Animal meat - 8 days, poultry meat - 5 days.
Limitations in application
The meat of animals and birds forcibly killed before the expiration of the specified terms is used directly for feeding carnivores or for meat and bone meal.
Storage
The drug is stored in a dry place, protected from light, at a temperature of 15-25°C.
