Pharmacological properties
Gentamicin belongs to the group of aminoglycosides. It is active against gram-negative and gram-positive microorganisms: Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp. Shigella spp., Enterobacter aerogenes, Klebsiella spp., some species of Proteus spp. and Serratia spp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Pasteurella multocida, Staphylococcus aureus, Serpulina hyodysenteriae, Mycoplasma spp. Gentamicin acts on sensitive cells in several directions: affects the integrity of the cytoplasmic membrane, affects RNA metabolism; inhibition of protein synthesis at the level of ribosomal subunit.

Application
Treatment of cattle, horses, sheep, goats, pigs, dogs and cats, patients with septicemia, arthritis, as well as diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, respiratory and genitourinary systems, skin caused by microorganisms sensitive to gentamicin.

Dosage
Intramuscularly 2 times a day with an interval of 10-12 hours for 3-5 days in the following doses:
cattle - 0.5-1 ml of the drug per 10 kg of body weight;
horses, sheep, goats, pigs - 0.5-1 ml of the drug per 10 kg of body weight;
dogs, cats - 1.25 ml of the drug per 10 kg of body weight
Half of the recommended dose is given to newborn animals during the first days of life.

Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to gentamicin.
Do not use in animals with impaired function of kidneys, organs of hearing and balance. Do not use simultaneously with other aminoglycoside antibiotics and antibiotics that have a nephrotoxic effect (polymyxin B, colistin, amphotericin, chloramphenicol, cephalosporin, erythromycin), as well as muscle relaxants and anesthetics, sulfonamides, heparin, group B vitamins, diuretics (furosemide). .

Reservation
The slaughter of animals for meat and the use of milk for human food are allowed, respectively, 45 and 3 days after the last use of the drug. The meat and milk received by the specified time are disposed of or fed to unproductive animals, depending on the conclusion of the veterinary medicine doctor. Pregnant and lactating animals are given the drug in cases of extreme necessity. Long-term treatment with the drug can lead to nephrotoxic and ototoxic effects.

Storage
A dry, dark, inaccessible place for children at a temperature from + 15 °C to +25 °C.
The shelf life is 2 years from the date of manufacture.
After the first selection from the bottle, the drug should be used within 14 days, provided it is stored in a dark place at a temperature from + 2 °C to + 8 °C.
