Floksy-spray max is a complex drug with antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic and anti-exudative effects, which is due to the effect of the active substances of the drug: antibiotics fluorfenicol and glucocorticoids prednisolone. Fluorfenicol is a derivative of thiamphenicol, in which the hydroxyl group is replaced by a fluorine atom, which determines its antibacterial activity against acetyltransferase-synthesizing bacteria sensitive to chloramphenicol. Fluorfenicol has a bacteriostatic effect on gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, namely: Fusobacterium necrophorum, Bacteroides melaninogenicus, Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp., Pasteurella spp., Salmonella spp., Proteus, Pseudomonas, Haemophilus spp., as well as Mycoplasma spp., Ricetsia spp. ., Chlamydia. Fluorfenicol inhibits protein synthesis in bacterial cells. In the protoplasm, it binds to 70S-ribosomal subunits, suppressing the enzymatic activity of peptidyltransferase, thus reducing the synthesis of proteins in the ribosomes of the corresponding bacteria.
Prednisolone is a synthetic glucocorticoid with anti-inflammatory, anti-allergenic and anti-exudative effects. The anti-inflammatory effect is due to inhibition of the metabolism of arachidonic acid and the release of inflammatory mediators. With local application, absorption of prednisolone occurs, and the active substance enters the bloodstream. In plasma, 90% of prednisone is bound (with transcortin and albumin). Biotransformed by oxidation mainly in the liver; oxidized forms are glucuronidated or sulfated. It is excreted with urine and feces in the form of metabolites, partially - in unchanged form.
Dimethyl sulfoxide in the composition of auxiliary substances easily penetrates the skin and serves as a carrier to ensure skin absorption of the active substances of the drug. It has a local anesthetic, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial (antiseptic) and fibrinolytic effect. Quickly and well penetrates through biological membranes, including skin and mucous membranes, increases their permeability to other medicinal products. Changes the sensitivity of antibiotic-resistant microflora.
Indications for use
Dogs, cats: treatment of animals with dermatitis of bacterial origin caused by microorganisms sensitive to fluorfenicol, panaritium, pyoderma, eczema, as well as traumatic surgical wounds (including after castration), combing, bites, blows, ulcers and open abscesses.
Dosage
Before applying the drug to the affected area, it is carefully cleaned of foreign bodies, exudate, necrotized tissues. Holding, pre-shaking the bottle with the drug at a distance of 5-10 cm from the surface of the damaged part of the skin of the body, press the piston of the sprayer 1-2 times and treat a surface of 5x5 cm.
It is necessary to apply the drug every 12 hours until the animals' wounds are completely healed.
Contraindication
Increased sensitivity to the components of the drug.
Special instructions
Before use, the bottle with the drug must be shaken. Do not allow the drug to get into the eyes and mucous membranes of animals. In case of unwanted contact with the drug on the skin and mucous membranes, wash with plenty of water. Before applying the drug, it is necessary to cut the fur from the damaged areas of the skin. Do not allow the animal to lick the drug for 5 minutes.
The drug, when used according to the recommendations of the leaflet, does not accumulate in livestock products. In case of forced animal slaughter, the treated areas must be removed.
