EasOtic Ear drops Virbac 10ML
Analogue mometamax , pozateks
COMPOSITION AND FORM OF RELEASE
The drug contains as active ingredients: hydrocortisone aceponate - 1.11 mg, gentamicin (sulfate form) - 1505 IU, miconazole (nitrate form) - 15.1 mg; and auxiliary component: paraffin up to 1 ml.
10 ml bottle with ear tip.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
The complex of three active components provides both antibiotic and antifungal effects, as well as an effect to relieve inflammation and itching accompanying otitis media, thanks to gentamicin (as a sulfate form), miconazole (as a nitrate form) and hydrocortisone aceponate, respectively.
Hydrocortisone has a powerful anti-inflammatory effect. It inhibits the activity of various tissue-destructive enzymes - proteases and nucleases, matrix metalloproteinases, hyaluronidase, phospholipase, etc., inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandins, kinins, leukotrienes and other inflammatory mediators from arachidonic acid. It also reduces the permeability of tissue barriers and vessel walls, inhibits the exudation of fluid and protein into the site of inflammation, the migration of leukocytes into the site (chemotaxis) and the proliferation of connective tissue in the site, stabilizes cell membranes, inhibits lipid peroxidation, the formation of free radicals in the site of inflammation and many other processes that play a role in inflammation. It also has a powerful antiallergic effect.
Gentamicin actively penetrates the bacterial cell membrane and inhibits the protein synthesis of the pathogen. Highly active against aerobic gram-negative bacteria: Escherichia coli, Shigella spp., Salmonella spp., Enterobacter spp., Klebsiella spp., Serratia spp., Proteus spp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Acinetobacter spp. Also active against aerobic gram-positive cocci: Staphylococcus spp. (including those resistant to penicillins and other antibiotics), some strains of Streptococcus spp. The fungicidal effect of miconazole is associated with disruption of the synthesis of ergosterol, a component of the cell membrane of the fungus. Miconazole binds to individual links in the ergosterol biosynthesis chain, which determines the fungistatic effect of the drug. The products of the broken biosynthetic chain are incorporated into the fungal cell membrane, which damages its integrity.
INDICATIONS
Isotik is prescribed for the treatment of otitis externa in dogs caused by mixed infections (bacterial and fungal), including Malassezia pachydermatis, Staphylococcus pseudointermedius.
DOSES AND METHOD OF APPLICATION
Preliminarily clean the pet's ear from wax, mechanical impurities and crusts. This can be done using a cotton swab soaked in a small amount of ear cleaner.
Before first use, press the pump 2 times to fill the cannula with the full dose of the drug. Insert the cannula into the external auditory canal of the damaged ear and add 1 ml of suspension. The suspension is applied to the ear once a day for 5 days.
Thanks to the presence of gentamicin in the product, Isotik brings relief to the pet in the shortest possible time, eliminating pain and itching, as well as reducing swelling of the affected area.
SIDE EFFECTS
With proper use and dosage, side effects are usually not observed.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Do not use on dogs with a perforated eardrum. Do not use in dogs with hypersensitivity to the active ingredients of the drug.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
Concomitant use with potentially ototoxic drugs should be avoided. Use with caution in dogs with impaired liver and kidney function.
STORAGE CONDITIONS
In a dry place, protected from direct sunlight, out of reach of children and animals, separate from food and feed at a temperature of 0 to 30°C. The shelf life in unopened manufacturer's packaging is 24 months from the date of manufacture. The shelf life of opened packaging is 10 days after first use.
