Treatment of coccidiosis of poultry caused by different types of eimeria

excipients – up to  100 ml.

DESCRIPTION. Clear solution from yellow to brown.

PHARMACOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS. АТС vet classification code QP51AJ01 – Toltrasuril

Tolkox 2.5% – anticoccidial drug of triazinetrione.
Toltrazuril is active against all intracellular stages of coccidia, including schizonts, micro and macrogamonts. It interferes with the division of the protozoal nucleus, the activity of the mitochondria and damages the wall forming bodies in the microgametes. Toltrazuril produces severe vacuolisation of the protozoal endoplasmic reticulum in all intracellular development stages.

After oral administration, toltrazuril is absorbed slowly from the gut. The plasma half-life is 51 hours in piglets, about 170 hours in lambs, and about 72 hours in calves. Excretion is characterized by a high fecal fraction with a relatively high excretion rate. There is no significant enterohepatic circulation.

Toltrasuril has a wide range of coccidial action at all stages of the development of intracellular (merogony and gamogony) of coccidia (Eimeria), para­sitizing in poultry, including Eimeria acervulina, Eimeria brunetti, Eimeria necatrix, Eimeria mitis, Eimeria ad­enoides, Eimeria meleagrimitis, Eimeria anseris, Eime­ria truncata, Eimeria maxima, Eimeria tenella, Eimeria nosens, Eimeria anatis, Eimeria danailovi, including coc­cidia resistant to other anticoccidial drugs.

APPLICATION. Treatment of coccidiosis of poultry caused by different types of eimeria:
broiler chickens, rearing flocks – E. tenella, E. neca­trix, E. acervulina, E. maxima, E. brunettі, E. mitis;
turkeys – E. adenoeides, E. meleagrimitis;
geese, ducks – E. anseris, E. nosens, E. anatis, E. da­nailovi, E. truncata.

DOSAGE. The drug is administered orally as drench with drinking water. The dose of the toltrasuril is                7 mg per 1 kg of body weight of poultry per day:
1 ml per 1 liter of with drinking water for 24 hours a day;
3 ml per 1 liter of with drinking water for 8 hours a day.
In some  cases treatment of poultry can be repeated in  5 days.
During the treatment of poultry give only drench and no other water.
Changing drinking water should be no later than 48 hours. In the case of sludge solution should be mixed thoroughly before use.

CONTRAINDICATIONS. Do not use for laying hens, eggs of which are used for human nutrition.

PRECAUTIONS. Slaughter of broiler chickens for meat is permitted in 14 days, turkeys, geese and ducks – in 16 days after the last administration of the drug. Received by the deadline meat is fed to unproductive animals or utilized, according to the local legislation base.

STORAGE. Dry, dark place, away from children or ani­mals at the temperature from 5°C to 25°C. Do not store together with food, drinks, including animal feeds.

SHELF-LiFE – 2 years from the date of manufac­ture. After opening a bottle drug is intended for use for 12 weeks.
