Noroflox 5% O.L.KAR. for injection 100ML
Noroflox 5% (enrofloxacin) → analog Baytril Bayer
Noroflox 5% (enrofloxacin) → analog Baytril Bayer
Homogeneous, transparent solution from light yellow to light brown color.
Storage
1 ml of the drug contains the active ingredient:
enrofloxacin ― 50 mg.
Excipients - up to 1 ml
Pharmacological properties
The active substance of the drug is enrofloxacin, which belongs to the group of fluoroquinolone antibiotics and has a wide spectrum of action against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. The mechanism of its action is based on the inhibition of the bacterial enzyme gyrase, which leads to a violation of bacterial DNA replication.
Enrofloxacin exhibits bactericidal activity against the following microorganisms: E. coli, Pseudomonas spp., Salmonella spp., Campylobacter spp., Haemophilus spp., Pasteurella spp., Bordetella spp., Erysipelothrixrhusiopathiae, Klebsiella spp., Proteus spp., Vibrio parahaemolyticus, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus spp., Clostridium perfringens, Actinobacillus spp., Fusobacterium spp., Enterococcus spp. and others, and also has a detrimental effect on mycoplasma (Mycoplasma spp.) and chlamydia (Chlamydia spp.).
After parenteral administration, enrofloxacin is quickly and completely absorbed due to high bioavailability. Its maximum concentration in the blood is reached in an average of 6 hours, the therapeutic concentration is maintained for 2 days. Enrofloxacin is partially metabolized in the liver and excreted from the body with urine and bile.
Enrofloxacin has a high level of distribution. Thus, concentrations in tissues and organs are usually higher than in blood serum. Organs in which the highest concentration can be observed are lungs, liver, kidneys, intestines.
The elimination half-life, depending on the type of animal, is 2-7 hours.
Application
Cattle: treatment of diseases of the digestive tract and respiratory organs caused by microorganisms sensitive to enrofloxacin (colibacteriosis, septicemia, pasteurellosis, salmonellosis, staphylococci, mycoplasmosis), secondary bacterial infections in viral diseases.
Sheep, goats: treatment of diseases of the digestive tract and respiratory organs caused by microorganisms sensitive to enrofloxacin (pasteurellosis, colibacillosis, clostridiosis, gangrenous and acute mastitis, salmonellosis, mycoplasmosis).
Pigs: treatment of diseases of the digestive tract and respiratory organs caused by microorganisms sensitive to enrofloxacin (pasteurellosis, enzootic pneumonia, bacterial bronchopneumonia, colibacteriosis, septicemia, salmonellosis, MMA syndrome, atrophic rhinitis).
Dogs: treatment of diseases of the digestive tract, respiratory organs, genitourinary system, hearing organs, as well as sepsis, wound infections caused by microorganisms sensitive to enrofloxacin.
Dosage
Cattle, sheep, goats are given the drug intravenously or subcutaneously, pigs - intramuscularly at a dose of 1 ml of the drug per 20 kg of body weight (2.5 mg of enrofloxacin per 1 kg of animal body weight) once a day. For the treatment of frequent respiratory tract infections and salmonellosis in animals, the dose is doubled. The course of treatment is 3 days, with salmonellosis – 5 days, with MMA syndrome in pigs – 1-2 days. The drug is administered subcutaneously to dogs at a dose of 1 ml of the drug per 10 kg of body weight (5 mg of enrofloxacin per 1 kg of animal body weight) once once a day for 5-10 days.
Contraindication
Do not use in animals with increased sensitivity to enrofloxacin.
Do not use for the treatment of small-breed dogs up to 12 months of age, large-breed dogs up to 18 months of age, pregnant bitches, as well as bitches during the lactation period due to the negative effect on the formation of cartilage tissue.
Do not use simultaneously with antibiotics of the tetracycline group, chloramphenicol, cyclosporine and macrolides due to the possibility of toxicosis.
Reservation
Drugs from the quinolone group should be used with caution in animals with CNS disorders.
If the volume of the dose exceeds 10 ml for cattle, 5 ml for sheep and goats and 2.5 ml for lambs, kids and pigs, it must be divided and injected into different areas.
Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed 10 days after the last use of the drug. The consumption of cow's and goat's milk for human food is allowed, respectively, 7 and 5 days after the last use of the drug. The meat and milk received before the specified deadline are disposed of or fed to unproductive animals, depending on the opinion of the veterinary medicine doctor.
