VETMEDIN CHEW (1.25mg, 5mg, 10mg) TABLET. FOR THE TREATMENT OF CARDIOVASCULAR FAILURE IN DOGS

Description

Vetmedin is a highly effective drug for the treatment of cardiovascular insufficiency in dogs. The active ingredient is Pimobendan. This drug is prescribed by a veterinarian and the dosage is established based on the tests and the general condition of the animal. Applies only to dogs.
It is prescribed in case of heart failure in an animal caused by valve failure or dilated cardiomyopathy (symptoms: shortness of breath, cough, decreased activity).

Contraindications: Vetmedin has a strong effect on the liver, therefore it is forbidden to use in animals with liver diseases. It is prohibited to use in case of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Use with caution in animals with diabetes. It is necessary to constantly monitor the level of glucose in the blood.

Interaction with medicinal products: Vetmedin is allowed to be used in parallel with other medicinal products. Very often this drug is used with furosemide. If the animal has congenital cardiovascular insufficiency, Vetmedin is used throughout the life of the animal. It is necessary to monitor the consumption of the drug.

Dosage:

Before starting the treatment, it is necessary to determine the exact body weight of the animal to ensure the correct dosage.
A dosage of 0.2 mg to 0.6 mg of pimobendan per 1 kg of body weight, divided into two doses per day, should be followed.
The recommended daily dose is 0.5 mg of pimobendan per 1 kg of body weight, divided into two doses.

One chewable tablet (1.25 mg) in the morning and one chewable tablet (1.25 mg) in the evening for a body weight of 5 kg to 10 kg.
One chewable tablet (5 mg) in the morning and one chewable tablet (5 mg) in the evening for a body weight of 20 kg to 40 kg.
One chewable tablet (10 mg) in the morning and one chewable tablet (10 mg) in the evening for a body weight of 40 kg to 60 kg.
