Storage
1 ml of the drug contains the active substance: medroxyprogesterone acetate — 50 mg;
Excipients: methyl parahydroxybenzoate, propyl parahydroxybenzoate, sodium chloride, polysorbate 80, polyethylene oxide 1500, water for injections.
Pharmaceutical properties
Medroxyprogesterone acetate is a synthetic progestogen that has a longer-lasting effect than natural progesterone. Medroxyprogesterone acetate affects the hypothalamic-pituitary system, blocking the secretion of gonadotropic hormones (FSH and LH) from the adenohypophysis. A decrease in the level of gonadotropic hormones in the blood leads to a violation of folliculogenesis in females, as a result of which follicle ovulation is inhibited and fertilization does not occur.
Method of application and dosage
for a long-term contraceptive effect, interruption of estrus in cats and bitches and prevention of unwanted pregnancy.
Treatment of false pregnancy and pseudolactation of bitches
Treatment of nymphomania in cats
The drug is administered once subcutaneously in the withers or intramuscularly in the thigh in doses:
a) for the treatment of imaginary pregnancy and pseudolactation:
bitches with a body weight of up to 10 kg - 0.5 ml of the drug,
from 10 to 20 kg 1 ml,
more than 40 kg 3 ml.
b) to prevent the appearance of estrus 5-10 days before its appearance, to interrupt it within 1-2 days after the appearance of the first signs (change in behavior, the beginning of mucous secretions with an admixture of blood, attractiveness to persons of the opposite sex):
bitches with a body weight of 2-5 kg 1-1.5 ml of the drug;
5-10 kg 1.5-2 ml;
10-20 kg 2-3 ml;
20 - 30 kg 3-4 ml;
30-40 kg 4-5 ml;
more than 40 kg 5-6 ml;
cats with a body weight of up to 3 kg 0.5 ml of the drug,
more than 3 kg 1 - 2 ml
c) in the treatment of nymphomania in cats, 0.5 - 1 ml of the drug.
For a one-time prevention of estrus, the drug is administered to bitches once no later than a month before the expected estrus, and to cats immediately after the next estrus.
For long-term prevention of estrus, the drug is administered 5-10 days before the start of estrus, repeated in bitches after 5-6 months, in cats after 4-6 months.
In the event that bitches to which the drug was administered show signs of sexual arousal, it is necessary to make an extraordinary injection of the drug. For Siamese cats, the dosage of the drug is determined individually by the veterinarian.
Before use, shake the contents of the bottle thoroughly until a homogeneous suspension is obtained.
Contraindication:
Diseases of the genital organs (metritis, endometritis, pyometra, etc.)
Diseases of the ORGANS of the urinary system
mammary gland tumor.
Disorders of the endocrine system
Treatment with other progesterone and estrogen drugs.
Application of the drug to animals used in breeding.

Warning!
Do not use the drug in animals before the first heat.
Do not use the drug in the postoperative period. It is not recommended to use it in greyhound bitches.

Expiration date
