Tiamulin is a semi-synthetic antibiotic, belongs to the group of pleuromutilin and acts bacteriostatically. The mechanism of action is the connection with the 50S ribosomal subunit of bacteria, which causes disruption of protein synthesis in the bacterial cell. The drug is active against most gram-positive cocci, mycoplasmas, spirochetes.

thiamulin hydrogen fumarate – 100 mg
Description
White powder, with a slight specific odor, dissolves in water.
APPLICATION
Method of application and dosagehe drug is used with drinking water or feed, mainly in a group method. During the preparation of the therapeutic-feed mixture, the drug should be thoroughly mixed with compound feed. It is possible to store and use such LKS within a month.

When used with drinking water, the daily therapeutic dose of the drug is:
- pigs – 1 g per 1 liter of water;
- bird – 1 g per 2 liters of water.
Before preparing the treatment solution, prepare a concentrate: the calculated amount of the drug is placed in a plastic or enamel dish, topped up with water at a temperature of + 40-45 ° C in a ratio of 1:10 and mixed. The resulting mixture is added to the daily norm of water.
Reservation
After the last application of the drug, slaughter of pigs for meat is allowed in 5 days, poultry – in 3 days. Meat obtained before this date is disposed of or fed to non-productive animals, depending on the conclusion of the veterinarian.

The drug is active against most gram-positive cocci, including Staphylococcus spp. and Streptococcus spp., mycoplasmas Mycoplasma hypopneumoniae, M. hyorhinis, M. synoviae, M. hyosynoviae, Ureaplasma spp., spirochetes Serpulina hyodysenteriae, S. innocens. Has low activity against gram-negative microorganisms, with the exception of Haemophilus spp. and some strains of E. coli, Klebsiella spp.
After oral administration, it is well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. Approximately 85% is absorbed, the maximum concentration in the blood is observed in 2-4 hours after application of the drug. Tiamulin is well distributed throughout the body, its highest concentration is found in the lungs. It is metabolized to form about 20 metabolites, some of which have antibacterial activity. About 30% of metabolites are excreted in the urine, the rest – in the feces.
Indication
Treatment and prevention of animals with diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to tiamulin:
pigs – dysentery, enzootic pneumonia, leptospirosis, pleuropneumonia, arthritis;
poultry (laying hens, broiler chickens, turkeys) – chronic respiratory mycoplasmosis, infectious sinusitis, infectious synovitis.
Contraindication
Do not use in animals with hypersensitivity to thiamulin, pregnant sows during the first month of pregnancy, breeding boars, laying hens during the laying period. Do not use monensin, narasin and salinomycin in pigs and poultry for at least 7 days before and after treatment with tiamulin.
