Synulox RTU Solution 100ml for injection
Composition and form of release
Synulox RTU is a sterile light cream colored oily injection suspension containing 140 mg of amoxicillin in the form of amoxicillin trihydrate and 35 mg of clavulanic acid in the form of calcium clavulanate as active ingredients per 1 ml. Produced in glass bottles of 100 ml.
Pharmacological properties
Synulox RTU has a broad spectrum of bactericidal activity against most gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, including strains producing b-lactamase: Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp., Corynebacterium spp., Clostridium spp., Bacillus anthracis, Actinomyces bovis, Peptostreptococcus spp., Essherichia coli, Salmonella, Bordetella bronchiseptica, Campylobacter spp., Klebsiella, Proteus spp., Pasteurella, Fusobacterium necrophorum, Bacteroides, Haemophilus spp., Moraxella spp., Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae and Actinobacillus ligneresi. Resistance to b-lactam antibacterial drugs is usually due to the ability of microorganisms to produce b-lactamase, an enzyme that destroys the b-lactam ring of the antibiotic before it can have an effect on the bacterial cell. Clavulanic acid, which is part of Synulox RTU, inactivates b-lactamase and thereby restores the sensitivity of bacteria to the bactericidal action of amoxicillin at concentrations that are easily achieved in animal tissues after administration of the drug.
Indications
Assign to cattle, pigs, dogs and cats for the treatment of bacterial infections of the respiratory tract, gastrointestinal tract, genitourinary system, soft tissues and skin.
Doses and method of application
Synulox RTU suspension for injection is administered to cattle and pigs only intramuscularly, to dogs and cats - intramuscularly or subcutaneously at the rate of 8.75 mg per 1 kg of animal weight, which is equivalent to 1 ml of the drug per 20 kg of animal weight, 1 time per day for 3 - 5 days. Shake the contents of the vial thoroughly before each use until a homogeneous suspension is obtained. Only dry syringes and needles are used to administer the drug. The injection site after the introduction of Sinulox RTU is recommended to be lightly massaged.
Side effects
In hypersensitive animals, allergic reactions are possible, which quickly disappear after discontinuation of the drug. If hypersensitivity reactions occur, it is advisable to administer antihistamines and corticosteroids to animals.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. Do not administer intravenously or intratracheally. Synulox RTU, like other penicillin antibiotics, is not allowed to be administered to rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters and gerbils. With great care, the drug should be used in other types of small herbivores. Synulox RTU suspension for injection should not be mixed with other drugs in the same syringe, nor should it be used simultaneously with bacteriostatic chemotherapeutic drugs.
Special instructions
During the treatment period and within 14 days after the last administration of the drug, it is prohibited to slaughter animals for meat. The meat of animals forcedly slaughtered before the expiration of the specified period may be used for feeding fur-bearing animals or for the production of meat and bone meal. Milk can be used for food purposes no earlier than 60 hours after the last use of the drug. Milk obtained before the expiration of the specified period can be used for feeding animals after heat treatment. The use of the drug is not indicated for pseudomonous infection.
Storage conditions
With caution. In a dry, protected from direct sunlight and out of the reach of children at a temperature of 3 to 25 ºС. Shelf life - 2 years. After the first puncture of the cork with a needle, the drug can be used for 28 days.
