NexGard Combo 3 pipets 3 Month Supply
NexGard Combo — drops against fleas, ticks and helminths for cats and kittens from 8 weeks of age and weighing from 0.8 to 7.5 kg.
The composition of 1 ml of the drug contains active substances:
ezafoxolaner - 12 mg;
eprinomectin - 4 mg;
praziquantel - 83 mg.
Excipients: glycerol formal, dimethyl isosorbide, butylhydroxytoluene.
Appointment:
Prevention and treatment of cats affected by ectoparasites and endoparasites (cestodes, nematodes).
Ectoparasites:
Prevention and treatment of flea infestation (Ctenocephalides felis). One treatment ensures the destruction of fleas and protection of animals for one month. The drug destroys fleas before they lay eggs and prevents household infestation. The drug is used to treat flea allergic dermatitis (BAD).
Prevention and treatment of Ixodes ticks (Rhipicephalus sanguineus, Ixodes ricinus, Ixodes scapularis, Ixodes holocyclus, Amblyomma americanum and Haemaphysalis longicornis). A single treatment prevents further infestations for at least 6 weeks against Rhipicephalus sanguineus (48 hours after treatment), for at least 5 weeks against Ixodes ricinus (48 hours after treatment) and Ixodes holocyclus (72 hours after treatment), and for one month against Ixodes scapularis, Amblyomma americanum (72 hours after treatment).
Treatment of otodectes (Otodectes cynotis).
Treatment of notohedros (Notoedres cati).
Endoparasites:
Cestodoses:
Treatment of cestodes (Dipylidium caninum, Taenia taeniaeformis, Echinococcus multilocularis, Joyeuxiella pasqualei, Joyeuxiella fuhrmanni).
Nematodes of the alimentary canal:
Treatment of nematode infestation of the alimentary canal (L3, L4 stage larvae and adult forms of Toxocara cati nematodes; L4 stage larvae and adult forms of Ancylostoma tubaeforme, Ancylostoma ceylanicum; adult forms of Toxascaris leonina and Ancylostoma braziliense nematodes).
Nematodes of the respiratory tract and heart:
Treatment of respiratory tract nematodes (larvae of the L3 and L4 stages, immature and adult forms of nematodes Aelurostrongylus abstrusus; larvae of the L4 stage and adult forms of nematodes Troglostrongylus brevior.
Prevention of aelurostrongylus (by reducing the level of invasion by larvae of the L3 and L4 stages of Aelurostrongylus abstrusus).
Prevention of heartworm disease (Dirofilaria immitis) for one month.
Bladder nematodes:
Treatment of capillariosis Capillaria plica.
Mechanism of action:
The drug is a contact insect-acaricide, actively affects pre-imaginal and imaginal forms of ectoparasites (lice, fleas, hair-eaters, ticks) and endoparasites (gastrointestinal nematodes, lung nematodes, heartworms and bladder helminths).
Esafoxolaner is the (S)-enantiomer of afoxolaner, which belongs to the isoxazoline class active against arthropods. Ezafoxolaner acts as an antagonist at ligand-gated chloride channels, particularly the neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA).
Among the chloride channel modulators, isoxazolines bind to a distinct and unique target site in insect GABACl, thereby blocking pre- and postsynaptic transport of chloride ions across cell membranes.
Prolonged hyperexcitability caused by esafoxolaner leads to uncontrolled activity of the central nervous system and death of arthropods. The selective toxicity of esafoxolaner between arthropods and mammals can be inferred based on the differential sensitivity of arthropod GABA receptors compared to mammalian GABA receptors. Fleas and ticks die within 24 and 48 hours of treatment, respectively.
Esafoxolaner kills fleas before they lay eggs, thus preventing the risk of household contamination. Has activity against sarcoptoid mites (Notoedres cati, Otodectec cynotis), which cause notohedric or ear scabies.
Eprinomectin has an endectocidal effect and belongs to the class of macrocyclic lactones, effective against gastrointestinal nematodes, lung nematodes and ticks. Compounds of this class exert their antiparasitic action through activation of glutamate-sensitive chloride ion channels in nerve or muscle cells of invertebrates. This leads to an increase in the permeability of cell membranes for chlorine ions with hyperpolarization of nerve and muscle cells, which, in turn, leads to paralysis and death of the parasite.
Praziquantel is a synthetic isoquinoline-pyrazine derivative active against all stages of intestinal tapeworms such as Dipylidium caninum, Taenia taeniaeformis and Echinococcus multilocularis. Praziquantel increases the permeability of helminth cell membranes to calcium ions, causing a generalized contraction of the parasite's muscles, which turns into persistent paralysis, which, in turn, leads to the death of the helminth.
METHOD OF APPLICATION
Doses and methods of administration to animals of different ages:
The drug is applied externally by application to dry, intact skin, according to the minimum recommended dose: 1.44 mg of ezafoxolaner, 0.48 mg of eprinomectin and 10 mg of praziquantel per 1 kg of animal body weight.
Taking into account the animal's body weight, choose an applicator in accordance with the table:
Body weight of the animal, kg Volume of the pipette, ml Dose of active substances, mg
ezafoxolaner eprinomectin praziquantel
from 0.8 to 2.5kg 0.3ml pipet contain ezafoxolaner- 3.60 eprinomectin - 1.20 praziquantel - 24.90
from 2.5 to 7.5kg 0.9ml pipet contain ezafoxolaner - 10.80 eprinomectin- 3.60 praziquantel- 74.70
When treating cats with a body weight of more than 7.5 kg, a combination of applicators of different volumes is used.
How to use:
The drug is intended only for external use (application to the skin). Do not use by injection, oral or any other means.
When applying the drug, avoid getting it into the animal's eyes and mucous membranes. If irritation persists, consult a veterinarian.
Apply only on dry skin in places inaccessible for licking by the animal: on the withers, between the shoulder blades. Do not allow other animals to lick until the treated area becomes invisible. If swallowed, this veterinary medicinal product may cause hypersalivation.
Since there is no study of the safety of the drug for kittens under 8 weeks of age, the drug is intended for use in kittens with a body weight of 0.8 kg and over 8 weeks of age.
To reduce the possibility of re-infestation with fleas, it is recommended to treat all cats living together at the same time. Other animals living in the same room should also receive appropriate treatment.
Various stages of flea development can infest bedding, bedding and common resting areas such as carpets and upholstered furniture. In case of mass flea infestation and at the beginning of control measures, these areas should be treated with the appropriate approved means and then regularly vacuumed.
The drug can be used in animals during reproduction, pregnancy and lactation.
Contraindication:
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active substances or auxiliary substances of the drug.
