Pharmacological properties
Ivermectin is an avermectin anthelmintic drug. The substance enhances the release of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in presynaptic neurons. GABA is a universal inhibitory mediator that blocks postsynaptic stimulation of neighboring neurons in nematodes. By stimulating the release of GABA, ivermectin causes paralysis and death of parasites.
After subcutaneous administration, the drug has the highest ability to absorb. Ivermectin is metabolized in the liver by oxidative processes, excreted mainly in the feces. Less than 5% of the drug is excreted in the urine.

Dosage
The drug is used once, only subcutaneously in doses:
cattle, sheep and goats: 1 ml per 50 kg of body weight (0.2 mg of ivermectin per 1 kg of body weight), injected into the scapula;
pigs: 1 ml per 33 kg of body weight (0.3 mg of ivermectin per 1 kg of body weight), injected into the middle neck;
dogs: 0.1-0.2 ml per 5 kg of body weight (0.2-0.4 mg of ivermectin per 1 kg of body weight).
Contraindication
Do not inject intravenously or intramuscularly.
Do not use in cows, goats and ewes during lactation, as well as 28 days before birth.
Do not use in collies, bobtails and their crossbreeds, small breed dogs and puppies under 3 months of age.
Do not administer to depleted and infectious animals.
Adhere to the exact dosage for piglets.
Reservation
Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed 28 days after the last application of the drug. Meat obtained before this date is disposed of or fed to non-productive animals, depending on the opinion of the veterinarian.
