Baycox 5% suspension for oral use, Bayer AG Germany (250 ml)
Description:
Suspension from white to yellow
Baycox 5% bottle of 250 ml for piglets. 1 ml of the drug contains 50 mg of toltrazuril as an active substance and auxiliary components (sodium benzoate, sodium propionate, propylene glycol, citric acid and distilled water).
Indication:
Treatment and prevention of coccidiosis in piglets and calves.
Doses and method of application:
Bycox 5% is prescribed to piglets for therapeutic and preventive purposes once on the 3rd to 5th day of life at a dose of 20 mg of toltrazuril per 1 kg of animal weight. The drug is administered to animals individually orally using a special dispenser at the rate of 0.4 ml of suspension per 1 kg of animal weight, but not less than 0.5 ml and not more than 2 ml per animal. Before use, the container with the suspension should be thoroughly shaken. Pharmacological properties:
Baycox 5% is effective against Isospora suis, Eimeria arloingi, Eimeria scabra, Eimeria guevarai and other species of coccidia parasitizing pigs at the stages of their intracellular development. After oral administration of Baycox 5% toltrazuril is slowly absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and has a coccidiocidal effect on the mucous and submucous membranes. Toltrazuril is excreted from the body mainly in unchanged form (70%), as well as in the form of metabolites (sulfones) with feces and partially with urine.
Baycox 5% is a moderately dangerous substance in terms of the degree of impact on the body, in the recommended doses, it does not cause side effects and complications in animals, and does not prevent the formation of immunity to coccidiosis.
With proper use and dosage, side effects are usually not observed. Increased sensitivity to the drug. Slaughter of piglets for meat is allowed no earlier than 91 days after the use of Baycox 5%. The meat of animals forcibly killed before the set deadline can be used for meat and bone meal.
Storage conditions: In tightly closed factory packaging. In a dry, light-protected place at a normal temperature of 0 — 25 °С.
Shelf life - 5 years, after opening the bottle - 3 months.
